FW25
Photography by Bella Newman

A group of adventurers, as seen through the eyes of an invisible creature.
Shot in infrared, the FW25 campaign by Bella Newman renders the world in black and white—exposing what usually remains unseen. Set deep in the swamps and cave systems of the southern Appalachian range—across Alabama and into Cave Spring, Georgia—we follow a cast of characters both on the hunt and on the run. Stalked by an unseen beast whose vision pierces the visible spectrum, the landscape shifts into something alien. Skin turns to clay, eyes become voids, veins surface like roots under pressure. Life in infrared, as meteorologists use to foresee the future; and crime scene investigators to see the past.
In this altered perception, ROA introduces a collection designed for transformation—Fall Winter 2025 merges the high-performance ethos of alpine gear with an urban, adaptable silhouette. The outerwear leans oversized and modular: boxy jackets, expandable backs for backpacks, packable volumes, adjustable hems and hoods. Contrasted against this, slim ergonomic silhouettes—compression leggings, sheer mesh dresses, and knit tops—hug the body like armor. Functionality is embedded in every detail: thumbholes, laser-cut ventilation, seamless knits, and double-knee reinforcements.
Materials reinforce this hybrid identity. Organic cottons and solvent-free waterproofing meet traditional craft elements: mohair mélanges, pinched knits, and Fair Isle techniques reimagined for performance. Textures collide—shiny microripstop puffers, matte flannels, tactile faux-fur fleece—while the color story, though imaginary in the campaign, draws from alpine terrain: glacier blues, moss greens, earth browns, and stone greys.
FW25 is a study in thresholds—between predator and prey, visibility and camouflage, nature and artifice. In the stark language of thermal imagery, where life reveals itself through heat, ROA captures a future of outdoor performance seen from beyond the edge of perception.
